The following are just basic troubleshooting tips. Most problems will be identified using the following steps. For more detailed servicing or overhaul see maintenance manual MM10000.

  3. General:
    1. 25,000-50,000 BTU heaters
    2. Part numbers CD11005, CD11006, CD11007, CD11010, CD11049, CD11050, CD11214, CD11215, CD12003, CD12004, CD12006, CD12009, CD12010, CD12011, CD12012, CD12022, CD12031, CD12032, CD12036, CD12039, CD12043, CD12059, CD12060, CD12061, CD12089, CD12090, CD12091, CD14010, CD14019, CD14020, CD14025, CD14026, CD14027, CD14045, CD14046, CD14050, CD14060, CD14125, CD14126, CD14152, CD14192
  4. Electrical:
    1. Terminal strip numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
  5. Basic requirements for heater operation:
    1. There are five basic requirements for a combustion heater to function.
      1. Electrical power
      2. Ignition
      3. Fuel
      4. Combustion air
      5. Ventilating air
    2. If any of these are absent or out of tolerance the heater will not operate correctly.
  6. Trouble Diagnosis: (The following basic troubleshooting steps are in order of ease of inspection and are the most common cause of failure)
    Note: It is suggested that one person operate the heater controls and another person perform the checks at the heater.
